SoC based on Power Architecture - real-time to plug in

BAB Q2 implements a Freescale OorIQ-family-based SoC on a PCI Express slot card. The board is available with the QorIQs 1020 and 2020.

The SoCs contain:

  • 32-bit bus interfaces and CPU clocks up to 1200 MHZ at 5 W
  • 1 up 2 PowerPC cores
  • 32- or 64-bit memory bus
  • RAM controller for DDR-3
  • PCI Express interfaces with Rev 2.0
  • PCI interfaces
  • USB

The ELTEC borad BAB Q2 has additionally

  • 2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (RJ45)
  • 2 USB 2.0 interfaces
  • SD card interface usable for booting
  • 1 PCI Express x1 interface, used when inserted into PC motherboard
  • 2 PCIe x1 slots on the baord to attach direct insertion of peripheral cards

Standard Linux by ELTEC

Real-Time CPU board to be plugged into non-realtime PC. This alleviates the problem with virtualized real-time computers, where the host computer has a heavy graphics load, destroying the real-time performance of the guest system. Here, a separate computational unit will help.
